Carla Durisch launches her new record label THRPY with debut track “Moist” dropping on the 15th of March. The label will be an outlet for the artist to explore the raw edges of house & techno.
Living in Zurich, Carla is an exciting DJ and producer whose style, despite diving deep, is full of energy and a knowing sense of humour.
2023 was a big year for Durisch who played over 90 shows that included Ibiza, Berlin, Miami, Dubai, Bali; her native Switzerland, alongside other parts of the world.
Her debut EP, ‘I Just Wanna Dance,’ came out via Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, and featured a remix by the legendary Seth Troxler. Any producer whose first release comes via record labels such as Crosstown is destined for big things.
THRPY is the next chapter in Carla’s evolution as an artist, and the record label’s title is a play on the word ‘Therapy’ which is her go-to remedy; a cathartic passion for sound that provides an escape from the daily grind.
Not only is THRPY a record label, but it’s also an events, merchandise and fashion brand that’ll include upcycling and a focus on FLINTA+ talent, subjects that Carla is particularly passionate about. Speaking in her own words, “Music, dancing, and clubbing have always been my lifelong therapeutic companions. Club culture, like no other art form, creates a unique haven where individuals of diverse backgrounds, generations, unconventional lifestyles, and orientations can find their own space of freedom.”
“Moist,” the first release on THRPY, is a track with tense synths and smouldering vocals. Its raw percussion and swelling pads are underpinned by an acid bassline, and its analogue groove has hints of Detroit-inspired electro.
