Ever since its debut at XOYO London in summer 2019, Pleasurehood has been one of the UK’s freshest, most-inclusive
London’s essential Shoreditch venue, XOYO, announces that its in-house night, Pleasurehood, will host an epic night of house music on New Year’s Eve 2023. Featuring hot talents Obskür, Meg Ward and Joshua James, with Sweet Nothings and Lucy Fizz & Friends over in room 2, the dance floor comes first at Pleasurehood, and this New Year’s Eve will be no different when it brings together the best house DJs around. Expect all the stops to be pulled out for this final dance of the year. Tickets are now on sale from £15+bf from https://ra.co/events/1823052
Ever since its debut in summer 2019, Pleasurehood has been one of the country’s freshest house parties. It spearheaded a new sound for XOYO’s Saturday night programming with a real focus on making the dance floor more accessible to everyone and offering hugely affordable tickets starting at just £5. Since then, it has grown ever more vital with a rotating assembly of colourful selectors from all backgrounds bringing the sounds. They have included the likes of disco revival and transgender pioneer Lucy Fizz, former BBC Radio 1 host Heidi who had a four-week residency, Ben Hemsley, Rebuke, Mele, Luke Soloman, the chart-topping vocalist Eliza Rose and many more besides.
Providing the sounds on 31st December will be Irish pair Obskür who are known for their energetic mix of 90s rave and flair-filled electronica that has given rise to hype singles like ‘Bayside’ on FFRR and ‘Rebel’ on Defected.
Also playing is Meg Ward, a young house star who has quickly blown up playing the UK’s finest venues and dropping tunes on Shall Not Fade, &Friends, Trick, and Needwant. Plus long-time club resident and house master Joshua James who knows more than most how to work the floor at XOYO.
Room 2 is where the colourful party is at with Southsea-based record label Sweet Nothings taking over the proceedings, with the help of label regulars Sopp, Billy Oz, Adam Keys and James Harry. The human confetti explosion herself, Lucy Fizz – a regular dancer at Sink the Pink and Glitterbox – brings the glamour and excess with her Friends in tow, altogether making this a night to remember.
Pleasurehood offers a perfect place for true house lovers to escape this New Year’s Eve. XOYO will become an unmissable party paradise with its famously high-quality sound system and the DJs taking to the mic to countdown crowds into 2024.
