With a stomping, three-track techno EP packed with peak-time adrenaline, Spektre is back on their record label Respekt.
Spektre, are a skilled duo based in the UK, that for more than ten years have released tunes on prestigious record labels including Filth on Acid, Kraftek, Elevate, 1605, and Drumcode.
Respekt has signed artists including Loco & Jam, Marco Bailey, Sasha Carassi, Spartaque, Mha iri, Brennen Grey, and Rudosa. This is a particularly rare release because Spektre only makes one or two releases per year on Respekt and saves their best music for their own record label.
Spektre has been a driving force in the global techno scene, and before that they were both successful solo artists working as Rich Wakley aka Filthy Rich and Paul Maddox.
“The Unseen Path” opens the release with its thundering kick drum, ominous industrial burst and thrashing hi-hats, which form a foundation for hypnotic vocals and a spine-tingling synth laced with twisted euphoria.
“Bring Me Fire” is the EP’s title track and true to its name, it’s a smoking hot track with the pulsating tones of an electrifying synth line. The explosive percussion subsides in the tranquillity of the breakdown, which fuses menacing synths with Lisa Rudy’s soulful vocals, before the drums slam back in to lift things up a gear.
“Suspended in a Sunbeam” closes out the release with pitched vocals and cinematic chords that are fused with an old-school breakbeat and grinding bassline layered with acid synth lines. It’s got a timeless sound and end-of-the-night vibe that will get people reaching for the lasers.
