Following his GuduMix and official remix of Peggy Gou’s ‘Find The Way’, Smokey Bubblin’ B makes his long-awaited label debut on Gudu Records alongside fellow underground architect Ozzie Guven
Smokey Bubblin’ B marks a landmark release in his career with his debut EP on Peggy Gou’s revered Gudu Records, landing alongside London-based DJ and producer Ozzie Guven on 17th March.
The two-track EP ‘Go With The Flow / Make It Clap’ is the natural next chapter in a growing relationship between Smokey and the Gudu world, and one that has already taken in a GuduMix and a widely celebrated remix of Gou’s own ‘Find The Way’. Now, with his first official release on the imprint, Smokey steps up alongside Ozzie Guven, with a project that feels perfectly placed.
The EP delivers two shots of the pair’s shared love of groove-driven, floor-focused house. ‘Go With The Flow’ features an infectious, momentum-building vocal wrapped around a hypnotic, pitch-shifting melody, before it drops its weight low and settles into a deep club cut built for early hours. ‘Make It Clap’ shifts the energy forward with a coiled, attacking bassline and punching, rhythmic keys, a relentless, no-frills house weapon designed to keep a set’s momentum locked and loaded.
Fresh off a standout year of charting releases, heavyweight DJ support and a growing presence across global dancefloors, Smokey Bubblin’ B continues to shape a new era of House and UKG with his genre-fluid blend of cutting-edge club energy. His tracks to date have earned support from the scene’s heaviest hitters including Peggy Gou, Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, Chris Stussy, Patrick Topping and more, helping cement him as one of the scene’s most inspiring producers. Soundtracking major institutions such as Boomtown, Drumsheds and Warehouse Project, Smokey’s influence continues to expand globally, with his hits ‘Poison’ and ‘Young World’ having amassed over 39 million streams combined.
Joining him is Ozzie Guven, a London-based DJ and producer who has carved out a formidable reputation in the underground house scene. Rooted in a lifelong love of the UK’s club culture — from 90s grime and garage through to jungle — Ozzie has channelled those influences into a run of Beatport-topping EPs on labels including Seven Dials Records, Heavy House Society and Microhertz. With support from the likes of Marco Carola, Michael Bibi and the Martinez Brothers, and sets at Fabric, Warehouse Project and across Ibiza and Europe, he arrives on Gudu as one of the underground’s most in-demand operators.
‘Go With The Flow / Make It Clap’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for both artists, and a statement of intent on one of electronic music’s most exciting imprints.
