Pawas remixes Mathias Schaffhäuser’s deep tech track “6 Uhr Morgens”

Pawas provides a remix on the new release by Mathias Schaffhäuser, which is an indie dance release that’s out via Canadian record label Suleiman.

The new music by Mathias Schaffhäuser has reworked versions of a classic track called “6 Uhr Morgens” that he originally released in in 1999. He has reinvigorated the track with a new vocal and low-slung bassline that add to the techy groove of the original.

Mathias Schaffhäuser has been releasing music for over two decades, and many will be familiar with his hit tracks such as “Hey Little Girl” which was released in 2002. He has also featured on prestigious record labels ranging from Kompakt to Third Ear.

There are three new versions of 6 Uhr Morgens that have been produced by Mathias Schaffhäuser, and the remix from Pawas that completes the package.

Pawas is a well-respected producer whose melodic style switches between deep house and indie dance, and his remix on this release is a disco-tinged version with indie dance flavour. The remix marks Pawas’ debut on Suleiman, but he is already well known for his releases on other respected labels such as Get Physical. Adding his own bassline and melody, Pawas leaves his mark on this release by creating a chugging groove.

The ’Vocal Club Version’ produced by Mathias Schaffhäuser leads the charge on this release, and it’s a low-slung track orientating around a melody synth playing triplets and a lurching bassline with a twisted sound. The vocal is the pièce de resistance, and adds a memorable focal point with hazy lyrics that complement the vibe of the track.

Mathias Schaffhäuser’s ‘Vocal Version’ and ‘Instrumental 2023’ are separated by the fact one has a vocal, and the other doesn’t, but both have a dropped tempo that adds to the hallucinatory vibe that runs throughout this release.
