Hungarian Talent James Cole Debuts on George Smeddles’ South Records With His ‘Big Money’ EP

Alliwant label boss James Cole is one of Hungary’s most respected and multi-talented figures, with releases on 8Bit, Moan, Deeperfect, Gruuv, HedZup, and many more. Following a spate of successful singles, James touches down on George Smeddles’ South Records imprint with an emphatic label debut spanning two groove-focused dancefloor jams across his ‘Big Money’ EP. You can buy/stream it here: https://orcd.co/sth006.

Kicking things off with the title cut, ‘Big Money’ comes in hot with punchy grooves, swinging percussion, resonant organ lines and a head-turning vocal element throughout. Following in the footsteps of some of James’ other recent releases, this one emphasises movement in the mix and a creative arrangement that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

‘More Money’ caps off the release, taking a more profound approach from the outset. Building around rolling melodies and atmospheric filters, the track’s combination of subtly chugging rhythms and endless layers of harmony carve out the perfect late-night vibe-builder, full of soul and personality.

Hungarian DJ, Producer and Label Boss James Cole has created a unique blend of techno and house music with deep basslines, hypnotic melodies, and intricate percussion. He has performed at numerous festivals and clubs in Hungary, Romania, and Serbia, including appearances at the prestigious Sziget Festival, the infamous Fabric in London, and the renowned Watergate in Berlin. He has also organised parties with legendary names in Hungary, including Carl Craig and Derrick May. With his releases receiving support from famous artists such as Joseph Capriati, Hot Since 82, and Stacey Pullen, James Cole’s reputation as a talented and respected artist continues to grow.
