Fred again.., Delilah Montagu – Delilah (pull me out of this)

I’m putting Fred again.. as my number 1. I believe this song perfectly encompasses his sound and every time I hear this song it makes me want to dance. He has really inspired me with his songwriting, production, and performances. It expanded in my mind what was possible in the realm of Dance music and for dancefloors.

RÜFÜS DU SOL – Innerbloom

RÜFÜS DU SOL brings back fond memories. I saw them live and they were the first real show I saw. It was transformative for me the first time to got to be around people who loved Dance music, they have such a great following and it was a turning point for me. I knew that this was what I wanted to do and to be a part of. The magic this song brings is incredible.

Fred again.. – Billie (loving arms)

I’m putting Fred again.. on the list again because he is my favorite artist of all time. I always get happy whenever I hear this song and it deserves the number 3 spot. Junior Vazquez’s remixes from the legendary Sound Factory were played a lot in my house growing up. It’s such an iconic track and loved by so many.

John Summit – Human (feat. Echoes)

In terms of modern DJs, John Summit is at the top of my list. This was the first song that got me into his music and he serves as a huge inspiration for my DJ sets. His versatility as a DJ is astounding while also sticking to his House roots.

Robin S – Show Me Love

I remember my parents showing me this song and a bunch of other classic House songs. I think this embodies the House sound of the era and I sing it every time I hear it. You can play this song anywhere and in any situation. People love it.

Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix, DVBBS – Gold Skies (ft. Aleesia)

Martin Garrix was and still is one of my biggest inspirations as a DJ. I used to play this song so much in my DJ sets when I was the resident DJ for CirKiz, and its one of my favorites from him. It reminds me when EDM was hitting the mainstream and was influencing the masses.

ODESZA – The Last Goodbye

I saw ODESZA on their last goodbye tour and it just blew me away. This song and the album as a whole convinced me to see them live, and they did not disappoint. The importance of great production in visulas and stage performance. They were one of the groups that inspired me to look toward live performance possibilities and collaboration with other musicians.

Sade – Kiss of Life

I listen to so much music. I genuinely think I listen to all genres. But Sade has such a beautiful voice and this song is always in every one of my playlists. The 90’s was an incredible era of music.

Phantoms, VÉRITÉ – Just A Feeling

I heard this song on the radio once and it stuck with me for years. The chords they use and the vocalist mesh together so well and I love it. It was the first Deep House vibe that resonated with me.

Four Tet – Lush

I love Four Tet’s music so I felt ‘Lush’ was a perfect song to put as number 10. His music is so broad and experimental, and serves as a huge inspiration to me. And as a DJ he brings so many unexpected elements into his sets and he’s truly unique. His performances are always so much fun.
