Djeff provides an afro house remix of Ayala (IT)’s new single, ‘Njambi’

Djeff is a highly regarded Afro house DJ and producer who features a remix on the new release from Sabo’s record label Sol Selectas. The original music comes from Ayala (IT) whose track “Njambi” is a majestic organic house track with a melodic flow.

Ayala (IT) also provides an ‘Alt Mix’ that adds Afro-influenced percussion to the African vocals and intricate melodies of the original. The package also includes a remix by Jaykill, who adds powerful downbeat rhythms to his version.

Although, Djeff is the most established of the artists who features on this release, all three of them are well respected for their music. Ayala (IT) is a regular on Sol Selectas, but has also worked with record labels including MoBlack. Jaykill is known for his work on Cosmic Awakenings and Shango Records.

The original mix of Njambi opens the release with tinkling percussion and the introduction of the vocals by Nes Mburu. Nes Mburu’s sensual tones and African vocals are layered with emotive piano chords and delicate synth melodies. The ‘Alt Mix‘ has reworked percussion and some of the melodic elements stripped back to draw increased focus to the drums and vocal.

Djeff provides a remix in the style that the pioneering Afro house producer has made a staple when releasing on his own label Kazukuta. It’s a thickened version that adds tension without losing any of the original’s emotion, and it adds dramatic synth stabs and extra percussion.

Jaykill closes out the release with a remix that’s true to the original with its use of the piano and vocals, but adds new drum sounds that give an Afro feel to his version.
