Boom Merchant starts 2025 with a new techno EP on T78’s Autektone Dark

T78 and his record label Autektone Dark start 2025 with a dark and gritty techno EP by Boom Merchant.

Following a big year in 2024, Boom Merchant continues to build momentum, and it’s his third time featuring on Autektone Dark. Boom Merchant is originally from Ireland, but recently relocated to Mexico where he has been building a recording studio.

Boom Merchant already has an international audience, and has been booked to play DJ sets in countries ranging from Japan to Germany. He is now closer to his North American fanbase, and in 2025 will no doubt be a regular performer at some of the region’s best techno events.

Track one, “Terremoto,” has a bulky bass pad that rises from the depths to create intense swells that deliver adrenaline-fuelled moments of extreme pressure. It’s got old school stabs and buzzing pads adding to the ferocity of the groove, which is carried by the spiralling rhythms of raw drum sounds.

Second, “Finally Here,” creates a deep and hypnotic groove with retro synth chords stretched over chunky percussion. Its juddering acid bassline adds to the unrelenting flow of this instant classic.
