Hi Alden, how are you?
I’m doing great thanks for having me!
To start, what inspires you as you head into this new year?
There’s a lot that inspires me and I have many plans for 2025 as I explore music. I travelled all over Europe last year and seeing a bunch of new cities and the nightlife they had was amazing. I moved from NYC to LA, and it has been a huge change in my life, and being in a new environment is very exciting. I also love seeing where the music industry is going, and the kind of shows that DJs are putting on!
Are there any upcoming releases you’re particularly excited to share with your fans?
Yes, I have a bunch of new music releasing in 2025 and my next single is already in the pipeline. It will be titled ‘Gonna Say Goodbye’ and will be released very soon!
What are your main goals for 2025, both professionally and personally?
My main goals for 2025 are to release more music than last year, as well as play bigger shows! I’m going to take social media and content creation very seriously as well.
Personally, I want to be more outgoing and take bigger risks!
Having recently relocated to LA, how do you see this new environment influencing your music this year?
Being in LA has definitely influenced my music. The new environment has inspired new creative ways for me to make music, and to expand my artist journey. I also met a load more like-minded artists who I’ve become very close friends with. It’s only been a few months but there have been a lot of new exciting opportunities!
Are there any festivals or venues on your bucket list that you’re aiming to play in 2025?
Now that I’m in LA, there are a lot of new clubs I would love to play in! Venues like Academy and Sound are really dope clubs, and of course, EDC would be incredible to play! Back in New York, where I’m from, I’ve always wanted to play at the Brooklyn Mirage, and the new venue Brooklyn Storehouse also looks sick!
Are there any new production techniques or skills you’re eager to master in 2025?
This year I want to focus on producing tracks that are outside of the box. Tracks that aren’t just your normal House or Tech House track. I also want to be able to mix and master my own music. I love all aspects of making a song and I want to continue to dive deeper into all aspects of the process. In my latest releases, I produced, mixed, and mastered the whole song, and it’s so much fun.
With tracks like ‘Take Me’ showcasing your evolving sound, what do you think is next in terms of your musical style?
I’ve been making a lot of music lately and I’m trying to produce songs that are unique. I want people to listen to my music and say, “that’s an Alden record.” I like the idea of collaborating with more singers and writing songs that tell a story, while also electrifying dance floors in the club.
I’ve been listening to all kinds of music in different genres as of late and I want to incorporate some new and experimental ideas into my music.
Are there any challenges you’re setting for yourself creatively this year?
I think forcing myself to finish tracks will be a big challenge for me. I have a bunch of ideas on my computer, but I struggle to finish them and ship them. This year I will focus on finishing my ideas, even if they won’t be released.
Finally, is there one piece of advice you are carrying with you as you pursue your goals this year?
Rick Ruben said that the reason artists and producers want him in the studio with them is because they trust his taste. This is an idea I’m bringing with me into 2025. I will put a lot of trust into my taste because I believe that’s what will make my music unique.
