Electronic music has seen countless concept albums over the years, but few carry the emotional depth and artistic significance of Metamorphosis, the debut album from Fisherman (Isaac Vissers). Arriving on June 5 via Black Hole Recordings, the 12-track project is a remarkable fusion of music, visual art, and family legacy.

At the heart of Metamorphosis lies a story that began more than three decades ago. In the early 1990s, Isaac’s father, acclaimed painter Jack Vissers, created a series of twelve graphic artworks without knowing the profound impact they would one day have on his son’s creative journey. Years later, those paintings resurfaced and became the inspiration for a groundbreaking musical project unlike anything Fisherman had created before.

Each track on Metamorphosis is directly inspired by one of Jack Vissers’ original artworks, transforming the symbolism, emotions, and philosophy of each canvas into a corresponding musical composition. The result is a deeply personal and immersive listening experience that bridges two generations through artistic expression.

Across its twelve chapters, Metamorphosis follows the human journey itself—from innocence, hope, and possibility through rebellion, imagination, passion, growth, wisdom, and ultimately legacy and life. Speaking about the project, Fisherman explains:

“This project started long before I ever touched sound. In 1993, my dad Jack created twelve paintings, without knowing where they would end up. For years, they just existed. Somehow, they found their way back to me. And over time, they became something else. Each piece shaped a feeling, a moment, a phase I didn’t fully understand until I heard it. What he created back then became the foundation of what I created now. We never planned this, and that’s what makes it special.

In a way, this album was already there. It just needed time to find its voice.”

Throughout the album, Fisherman collaborates with a talented lineup of artists and vocalists, including EKE, Mike Schmid, Susana, Nifra, and Christian Burns. Together, they help bring the project’s emotional themes to life while maintaining the melodic and uplifting sound that has made Fisherman a respected name within the global trance and progressive music community.
