Ben Gomori reveals his new single ‘Fo Sho’ featuring vocalist Carly Foxx, set for release on 9th October via Monologues Records. The UK producer also announces his debut album, ‘Collapsing Time’, out on 20th November.

‘Fo Sho’ sees Gomori dish out his distinct vintage Balearic-inspired sound—a staple in Ben’s original productions, complete with retro Oberheim synth stabs, old school drum machine drums and percussion, topped with a euphoric piano riff. This is juxtaposed with Gomori’s emotive lyrics about clinging to a relationship, sung in unison with Nervous Records affiliate and vocalist, Carly Foxx.

This is the third single from Ben Gomori’s forthcoming ‘Collapsing Time’ LP. So far from the album, we’ve heard the balmy 114 bpm balearic belter ‘Inside Melody’ featuring Daisybelle (watch visualiser HERE), and the intense ‘1500 Pictures Of You’, a much faster, energetic tempo-jumping track with a deep meaning close to Ben’s heart. While all will become clear in due course, the poignant themes explored on ‘1500 Pictures Of You’ relate to a wider deeply emotive narrative carried across the LP.

‘Collapsing Time’ represents a bold step forward for the London-based Gomori, showing his development as an artist with wider ambitions, leaning into his love of pop music while retaining his dancefloor foundations.

Drawing on sounds ranging from the Balearic grooves celebrated by his Balearic London party and label (alongside Ariane V, Gaucho and Sarahtonin) to the progressive and breakbeat sounds of his youth, ‘80s synth pop and boogie and the peak-time house he is known for, the album features collaborations with the likes of Rui Da Silva—who also mixed and mastered the album—and rising talents Carly Foxx, Daisybelle, Michelle Nova and Coco Cole.

Following the release of Ben’s debut album will be a remix project, featuring reworks by three of the hottest artists in dance music, Kassian, Jordan Nocturne and Nickodemus. More details are set to be revealed soon.

As a producer, Ben Gomori has spent the last 15 years producing club tracks and expertly crafted club edits, gaining support from everyone from Gilles Peterson to Disclosure and played everywhere from Womb in Tokyo to Space and Pikes in Ibiza to fabric in London and Glastonbury.

Both as Ben Gomori and as G.Markus, Ben’s released music on respected labels including Soul Clap, Club Bad, True Romance, Something Happening Somewhere, Exploited and Roots for Bloom. Alongside his Monologues Records imprint, he also runs the labels G-Edits and Sterns Edits, where he drops a variation of delicious dancefloor-focussed edits of well-known hits. Not done there, Ben runs the party and label Balearic London, which is home to his more low-slung hedonistic Balearic-style beats, reminiscent of dreamy Ibiza evenings.

Alongside all of this, Ben organises the popular events series, Pitchback Playback. These are immersive listening parties endorsed by big names like Rick Rubin, Max Richter and Jay Kay of Jamiroquai. Each event is an immersive listening session in complete darkness, enhancing the experience of both classic and contemporary albums on high-quality sound systems. By eliminating visual distractions, attendees can focus purely on the music, noticing new details and intensifying the experience. For these events, Ben has worked with artists like Jon Hopkins, Trentemøller, Daniel Avery, Christine & The Queens, MGMT, Flume, Moderat and Jungle to premiere their albums ahead of release. Events have taken place in cities including London, New York, LA, Mexico City, Paris and Berlin. (Find out more HERE)

‘Fo Sho’ is an apt taster of what’s to come on Ben Gomori’s stunning debut album, which arrives on Wednesday 20th November. Drawing from his experience making hits for the dancefloor, and combining this with a love for synthpop and songwriting, this exciting labour of love marks the next chapter in the Ben Gomori story.
