Hot Oasis is an Egyptian artist who has a mystical style of organic house, and he is back on the Sol Selectas record label with a stunning new release.
Sol Selectas is one of organic house’s most respected record labels, and Hot Oasis is no stranger to the imprint’s roster. Not only are there two tracks by Hot Oasis, there is also a remix by A X L, plus a collaborative remix from Sabo and Sarkis Mikael.
Sabo is the owner of Sol Selectas, and he is an American artist from LA whose music takes influence from different world cultures. Sarkis Mikael is also from LA, and like Sabo, he is a well-travelled individual whose music is inspired by the different cultures he has experienced.
A X L is an Egyptian artist who blends elements from traditional Egyptian music with modern electronic sounds, and like all the other artists who feature on this release, he has worked with well-established record labels from the organic house genre.
“Ghazali” is first of the two original tracks by Hot Oasis, and it’s got haunting vocals fused with a tense synth melody and organic drum sounds. “Farfasha” is the second track on the release, and it’s got heavy breakbeat rhythms combined with sweeping pads and chords from a santoor, which is a traditional Egyptian string instrument.
Sabo and Sarkis Mikael deliver a softened remix of Farfasha that switches to a four-four kick pattern with softer percussion, they also put a bigger focus on the original’s vocals and atmospheric sounds. A X L remixes “Ghazali” into an upbeat version with new synths played using expressive musicianship and Egyptian melodies.
