Based in Monterey, California, Jason Kushy grew up in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and began learning to DJ at age 11 with an $80 mixer in his parents’ basement. By eighth grade, he had started his own DJ business, later performing at weddings, proms and private events. Those early experiences helped him develop the ability to read a room—an instinct that continues to influence both his DJ sets and original productions.
Kushy began releasing original music in 2025 and has quickly built momentum across streaming and dance music platforms. He has now surpassed one million Spotify streams, reached more than 120,000 monthly listeners and connected with over 450,000 unique listeners during the past year.
His previous Keep It Moving EP, released through Direct Action Records, peaked at No. 18 on Beatport’s Tech House Top 100 Releases chart. His music has also received support from Louis The Child, SIDEPIECE, Jauz, Wolfgang Gartner, Bingo Players and San Holo, alongside repost support from Dim Mak, Insomniac Records, Barong Family and Space Yacht.
The artist’s growing catalog includes original releases such as “Gave It My All,” “I’m Okay” and “Close the Door,” as well as remixes of songs by Fleetwood Mac, Pet Shop Boys, Hall & Oates, Natasha Bedingfield and Sean Paul.
Kushy’s creative world continues through Stay Kushy, a project combining original music, minimalist artwork, custom visuals and live performances built around exclusive edits. Inspired by games, animation and pop culture, the project reflects his broader approach to music: personal, energetic and designed to create lasting shared experiences.
With Side Effects, Jason Kushy adds another release to a fast-growing catalog while continuing to establish his voice within contemporary tech house.
