Global tastemakers Bedouin join forces with Hiya for their first release of 2026, unveiling the spellbinding single ‘Salaam’, out 6th February on their imprint Human By Default.
‘Salaam’ is a single word woven into the heart of this track, which means peace in Arabic. It is both a longing and a promise, an invocation that rises over fractured horizons and whispered fears. In a time that feels defined by uncertainty, this song stands as a luminous call to what we all carry within.
Through wizardry, Bedouin draws on ancestral spirit and modern sensibility alike, inviting listeners into a space where a single word becomes an anthem. Anchored by the soul-shaking vocal of Hiya — a voice shaped by heritage and vulnerability, capable of conveying centuries of emotion in a single breath — the song unfolds like a journey. It begins with driving stillness, swells with urgency, and soars with the raw, unguarded power of human hope. Featured artist Hiya is the latest artistic evolution of acclaimed Lebanese vocalist Reem El Sharif, marking a bold transformation from celebrated pop star to innovative electronic music producer and DJ.
Speaking on the record, Bedouin state:

Behind the project are Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe, whose Bedouin moniker has become synonymous with globally inspired electronic music that bridges cultures and generations. Drawing from their Middle Eastern roots and Western upbringing, the duo have spent more than a decade shaping a sound that feels both ancient and future-facing, intimate yet expansive.
The Miami/Ibiza based producers closed out 2025 on a high and carried that momentum into the new year, highlights included historic events across their international touring brand, Saga, held at ADE in Amsterdam, Mykonos, Tulum, and Ibiza — marking the seventh year of the residency, which earned the 2025 Vicious Award for Best House Party.
Their Human By Default label continues to serve as a platform for boundary-breaking and emotionally driven music – pushing forward both renowned and emerging talent across the international scene.
