Ilona Maras drops driving techno EP, “Stop Turn”

Ilona Maras has been going from strength to strength, year after year, and 2025 has been another masterclass from the Zurich based techno artist, as she ends 2025 with her new EP Stop Turn.

Hailing from Montenegro, but living in Switzerland, Ilona Maras has truly left her mark on the techno scene this year. Not only has she played numerous international DJ shows, Ilona Maras has also dominated dance floors with the music she has produced.

Alan Fitzpatrick was the first to sign Ilona Maras in 2025, and she was quick to follow up on that EP with releases on labels run by Victor Ruiz, as well as The YellowHeads.

This latest three-track release is out on Clif Jack’s record label MJA the Vision, and as usual, Ilona Maras expresses a style that combines timeless sounds with new-school ideas.

“Stop Turn” has acid house style euphoric vocal chants, which she layers with pulsating acid, and chanting vocal phrases.

“Rovo” is a stripped back track with a rumbling low-end and hypnotic vocals combining with raw drums and fizzing hi-end percussion.

“Concentrate” is a spellbinding track the combines ominous tension with industrial sounds and a looped vocal.
