Luca Morris is back on Clif Jack’s record label, MJA the Vision, to deliver his three-track techno EP, The Elephant.
The Elephant is a fitting title for this hefty release that rampages and tramples with heavy drums and steamrolling basslines. This peak time selection is all about the low-end, as all of these bass-heavy tracks have a bassline hook at their core.
With over three decades of experience, Luca Morris is a veteran techno artist whose music has been a feature of labels ranging from Terminal M to Codex. His productions have a timeless quality, showcasing his mastery of synthesisers and drum machines.
“The Elephant” has a menacing bassline that bubbles with ripples of modulation, but it’s the intense bursts reminiscent of an elephant trumpeting that give it its title, while captivating female vocals complete the package.
“Back to Love” is a hammering track with brutal claps and gritty synths leading the charge, then things get deep and tranquil in the breakdown, before the brutality of the drums regain control.
“Core Pressure” is a juddering track with a flickering bassline and muffled vocals combining with intense stabs. The breakdown introduces a rising acid line that reaches a crescendo shortly after the percussion hits back in.
