Toolroom hosts an Immersive Club Night in collaboration with Shoreditch’s Lost In Light

Toolroom is set to host a unique event at Curtain Call, Shoreditch’s newest cultural hub, offering a night that merges cutting-edge electronic music with an immersive art experience.

Featuring performances by Martin Ikin, CHANEY, and Nausica in the venue’s basement club, attendees will also gain access to the first floor of Lost in Light, a stunning light and sound exhibition by the globally renowned art collective Squidsoup. This follows Lost In Light’s landmark collaboration with Four Tet at Alexandra Palace, and cements Toolroom’s reputation for pairing groundbreaking music with memorable cultural moments.

The night’s lineup is spearheaded by Martin Ikin, a stalwart of the house music scene with over 30 years of experience. Known for his distinct blend of grooves rooted in his background as a jazz pianist, Ikin has had prolific releases on labels such as Toolroom, Defected, Nervous Records, and Fisher’s label Hooked. This event also celebrates the recent launch of Ikin’s new label, Know Where Records, in partnership with Toolroom—a platform dedicated to fresh, boundary-pushing tech-house, with plans for collaborations, merchandise, and events.

Joining him is CHANEY, a multi-instrumentalist and rising talent from Swindon whose productions fuse house music with influences from British subcultures and ’90s rave nostalgia. His recent release, Lose My Number saw him team up with one of the most iconic vocalists of our time, Candi Staton. CHANEYs profile over the past 12 months has risen to dizzy new heights with a string of consistent and strong releases via labels like Insomniac and D4Dance where his track Sunshine was the soundtrack of the Summer across all major UK radio stations.

Completing the bill is Nausica, who made her debut Toolroom appearance at KOKO in October at which her performance was so well received by the crowd that she simply had to return for this special occasion. Known for her tech-house prowess, her tracks have gained support from heavyweights like John Summit and Solomun.

The event is Toolroom’s third and final party of the year in London, following standout nights at Ministry of Sound and KOKO. This cultural landmark event at Curtain Call reflects the label’s adaptability and enduring presence in London’s ever-evolving club scene. Like other top-tier brands such as Ministry of Sound, Anjunabeats, and Hospital Records, Toolroom continues to set the standard for consistent and innovative electronic music experiences.

The Lost in Light exhibition by Squidsoup adds a powerful dimension to the evening. Known for their interactive installations that combine light, sound, and space, Squidsoup’s work invites audiences to immerse themselves fully. Featuring the world premieres of In-Finite and Three Volumes, the exhibition offers a sensory journey designed to evoke emotional responses and push the boundaries of how we experience art.

Running from 9 PM to 1 AM, this one-of-a-kind event offers a fresh perspective on a night out in Shoreditch. With its fusion of music and art, the Toolroom night at Curtain Call is an opportunity to experience two creative forces at the forefront of their respective fields.
